Farm boy in my youth. Thanksgiving morning back then. Strawberry plants needed mulch. Barns needed cleaning. One TV channel in black and white. The Mouse on the Mayflower movie was on once a year. And only on Thanksgiving Day. All seven of us kids were home. No school. A holiday. Time to get some farm work done. All hands on deck. "Work up an appetite before the feast," some laughed. I never laughed when I missed Willum Mouse, Esq. This year on Thanksgiving Eve, I watched that movie, which is now available every day and every hour of the year. Feasted the next day. But my carcass could have used some farm chores to justify my appetite.
